Office politics is fun

30 October, Monday

This is not cool. After spending time in office on Saturday and Sunday, the feeling terribly sucks. I wonder how those ex-colleagues of mine used to work long hours even after midnight that extended till Sunday. Emilyn, you are gooda man. If I'm a employer next time, you are on my list. Too bad, you are not reading this!

I would have thought wife returned on Tuesday. So I decided to claim my 'off day pass' on Tuesday so that I have time to clean-up the house and throw the rotten dou-gay cum sweet potatoes.

Slumperwoman sms me at 4 pm adn asked what to buy at DFS . . .

31 October, Tuesday

Damn it, I just took the off pass lar. Went to the vendor's warehouse for work-related reason and had a long chat with the boss. hmm . . . luckily the warehouse is at Loyang only.

I caught a cold on Monday night, so the whole day I was sneezing away. Not sure if any of you was thinking of me, or SWEARing at me . . . heh stayed home and watched DVD. Took some drowsy medication and slept. Bunny, Sis and mum came and brought me some dinner. Afterwhich, we opened a bottle of red wine and drank by the pool. Had a good chat with sis.

Since when I become so chatty . . . sighs, lonely slumperman.

1 November, Wednesday

Nothing much to report lar. Had a rough shooting night at Bedok. Damn it, this time I missed a potential game-winning three-point shot but Huat was there for the putback. hmm . . . it;s been long since he's done that kinda rebounding work. He has alwasy been shooting outside and the last to get back on defense. Must be the Carmelo shoes . . . Must be the shoes . . . ZJ had a off-night too.

2 November, Thursday

Work was definitely busy as the next day is the official 'office move' date. A lot of planning and co-ordination needs to be done. And the worst was, office furniture is not ready! Well, my vendor is here to fix the thing so I'm like super multi-tasking lor. Hey, slumperman is getting better at that, trust me.

I'm very gamdong as SC and CY cooked charsoba for me. The whole gang came up to our floor and makan. I didnt join in the lunch together but CY left the food in a bowl for me. Bought me some fruits for dessert too. What a good hospitality!


You may not believe what I say but I can tell you, I'm desperately, dying to sit in for the lunch. It just couldnt happen.


I finished the food just less than 10 minutes in the pantry and got back to work.

2 November, Friday

It was just yesterday the game came into live. It was fun to see how office politics was being played. It was more fun when you are involved. Yes, I like to see how these people react and tackle the issue, that's all. You know, sometimes I really feel pathetic for these people. They fought so hard just to get the things they wanted and at the end of the day, you get nothing but just a piece of metal plank.

For just the second time I was hated by some of the people in this office move. I think that's part and parcel of the game. The other wrestler is no better than me, and I'm pretty sure about that. And that shows one thing - - you dont need to be well-liked by EVERYBODY in the office. As long you exercise power and know the rules of the game with strategic thinking, you sustain in the long run.

President Bush is probably one of the live examples that I could relate to, of being a great leader and unpopular at the same time.



Back to work. Boss is sitting opposite me.
