Holiday Mood
Everybody seems to be on a holiday mood, with little or no people in office, except the two loudspeakers – one at the back and the other at the other side of the world. Sound noise does travel through concrete walls … With SC on his way to the gambling dent in the north of the Malaysia State, I sat alone in the pantry eating my half-boiled eggs. Hey, the timing works, 6 minutes follow by another two. In addition to another glass of Meiji milk (thanks to JT’s wife recommendation), my breakfast is settled, with full satisfaction.
Sleezy pasta place
This is a plain joke I had with JS and JT. However, that fellow was tied in a meeting and JT and myself decided not to wait for him. Actually I was afraid he might tell the rest of the TFG people that I’m bringing them to a sleezy pasta place where all the sexily dressed waitresses are. It could look as if I’m one of those hot hooters’ fans. Well, this is bad. This is real bad. For no. one reason, I’m not fancy about hooters. Secondly, Mr Tan’s fame and pride would be condemn in SR. no this cant happen … The pasta was nice. I had fresh tomato spicy seafood marinara with linguine. I didn’t know what JT had, but he signed with his Citibank credit card. Thanks bro, haha
We had coffee as usual, at Clifford Centre.
Just while I was typing about these sleezy stuff, it rained out of the sudden … was listening to Liu Jing Hong, Cai Hong Tian Tang. A sad opening with nice piano tune, and touching chorus * cant find the direction to the rainbow heaven … two people spending time together until hair becomes white … * < - - direct translation … hee I miss that …
Favorable but boring phone call
Received a favorable call from a boring man in the afternoon. * Hi, I’m calling from Airo. Are you convenient to talk now? * There goes me into the private meeting room chatting away … finally, my effort pays off … but not very impressive indeed. Why? Tell you more about it next time.
Fighting fish wont mate
I put the male and female fighting fishes together. Both red color. As I observe, he was like swarming around for an escape in the $2.50 tank. After I left them alone for while, I notice ‘him’ attacking ‘her’! And it was her turn trying to find an exit! She was like, oh, turning away from him. When I saw him like ‘biting’ her, I quickly took him out and isolate them. Strange. Not a good mood. I think he wants to rape her, and not making love to her …
The tetras survive
Unless you wonder how it fair after introducing the ‘biological’ filter in mighty tank, I’m pleased to announce that no casualties were found since then (except the female fighting fish incident, where two were murdered)

Mission Possible 3
I felt bad, in a way, to turn down my friends for the KTV session at partyworld. YL is half down, with sorethroat and slight feverish symptoms. She is not going to make it for the KTV. Well, why not go for a movie?
5.30 pm
She was still stucked at work and hence, I went home first.
6.15 pm
I quickly changed and got myself into “conditioning mode”. Had 5 minutes of warm-up and stretching from hand to waist to calf and back to stomach again. Had 10 push-ups, I know, it’s little. What to do? My hands are aching man! Did 100 crunches – first set 50, followed by two sets of 25. I don’t know how the hell JT can do 200 crunches. He’s a f**king monster! Next, 30 count of calf raises for each leg. According to Doctor Benedict Tan, this is good to strengthen the little muscles around the injured calf. Next, 20 minutes of jogging. Ran to street 11, saw two mei mei running round the park. Wait for what? Here I go, “stalking” behind them. Hey, they are good runners ok? Only manage to overtake one. Need to save breather for the journey back home, so straight away, U-turn. Went up to the stairs at the function room for the gym, and sh*t, forgot to bring access card. F**k, so I did some warm-down, and slowly walked home and get changed, changed into superman costume … swam for 5 laps, to-and-fro counted as one ok? I thought I was running out of time, so last lap I was like, chasing a mei mei in the water!

We supposed to meet at Tampines Mall for the 8.30 pm show, and yet, when I called her after my shower, she was just on the verge of leaving office. And I thought, forget it, she’s not going to make it on time. And she would also be too tired to enjoy the charm of Tom Cruise. Hence, I cancelled the movie, and head towards Shop & Save. What I did was I cooked three dishes for dinner in one hour, to be exact.

We had the following for dinner – rice, tom yum niang tou fu with flower crab soup, black bean sauce beef cubes with ku gua, oyster sauce jie lan with mushrooms. The best part is we wanted to invite our friendly neighbours J&S and HZ. HZ was eating at Blk 85, and J&S … By the time they replied sms to YL, we had almost done with the soup. Hek hek hek

Tuesday is the day. We were invited by JS to celebrate his 90 days work with SR,
and his farewell party for his HK trip. He’s leaving on Saturday.

Heavy downpour. SC is so cute, got a big umbrella down, and asked JS and myself to share it. He himself put on the MS jacket with Today’s papers, and together, we chiong to S9!

Had dinner at Smile Thai. LK joined us at about 6.45 pm.
7.00 pm
Started off with Chivas. As usual, the pub wasn’t that crowded early of the night. LK and myself were busy singing and SC and JT playing pool. JS isn’t a five zero high hand, so he quietly stayed by the table and listened to the two heavenly kings singing, watched two high hands playing pool, and enjoyed the nit. I couldn’t wait to sing the 10-minute song man …

Chivas done. Next, 1800 premium tequila. I didn’t know this bottle, which I bought at duty free some years ago, was very much appealing to SC. First round, all of us had one shot. Second round, we invite the birthday boy – Chris, JM’s husband and also co-owner of the pub, for another round of shot. Third round, Submarine – sinking a tequila shot into a mug of Tiger beer.

I can’t forget you
Somebody was asking me, how do you forget someone? So I want to clarify again, do you mean to forget the person, or to recover from the failed r/s. My answers are simple. For the latter, do some stuff to distract yourself from thinking about the r/s. Like taking up a new hobby, talk to people, sing song in toilet/lift/partyworld/Siam9, shift focus etc. As for the former, in my point of view, I’m sorry to say there is no immediate solution. It’s way too tough and big of a challenge. Every time when you come across some familiar places, your memory flashes back to the old times when those things took place. Once it’s captured into your heart (not the mind), you tend to wish to remember that feel forever. You don’t wish to lose that because you never know when you gonna feel that again. It requires two persons of the same frequency to feel the same way about each other. And it comes, and goes. That’s life. Once you lose it, you can never get hold of it, no matter how much you do, how hard you try. If you lose it, you will have to embrace it at the back of your head. Bu pa tian chang di jiu, zhi zai hu ceng jing yong you. Although sounds a bit mushy, but you realize the importance of this common phrase after you experienced it. Just be glad that you had it before and not to force anything.

Got home with YL. It’s been agreed that I’ll be doing my stuff, and she’ll be cooking dinner. Well, for the moment, I felt like a man of happiness …

Reached home, got changed, and kicked off my warm-up right away. YL headed down to Shop & Save. I did the usual routine as described above, just that this time after the running (behind the school and the park), I did some weight lifting at the gym. Got a lot of “hunks” there you know … ageing hunks lar I mean … hee. I also not bad, wore a singlet with another t-shirt top, except for the stomach, I looked massive in the mirror. I was motivated to work out in the gym after seeing Lebron James in ESPN channel doing some weights lifting. Hell, he’s strong, a real hunk, but he looks older than his age.

Put in the female fighting fish into my mighty tank, followed by dinner. We had chicken chop with mesh potato and tasty sauce, oyster sauce cauliflower with mushrooms, pork ribs, and cold top shell. This was her second time cooking. Great improvement man …

Continued the unfinished DVD – Into the Blue. I tell you, this is a must-catch showcase by Jessica Alba and Paul Walker. Great bodies, great marine fishes. She’s too hot to ignore! And they are too beautiful to miss!

MJ & fishes
My parents came in the morning. As usual, we had MJ until late afternoon. Won 40 bucks in total. Treated them late lunch at the coffee shop downstairs. Told you, after having those fishes, gambling luck has been on the ‘high’ side. Bought two small fish tanks $2.50 and $5.50 with the center divider. I put the three female fighting fishes together in the $2.50 tank, and two male fighting fishes in the $5.50 tank, separated by the divider. Wanted to add the sponge, but it just keep floating in the water. So I added stones instead. Big stones. My parents like it. I think I gonna get one for them when I catch Suns vs Clippers Game 3 at 10.30 am on this coming Saturday.
The Lakers vs Suns Series ended today
I was real disappointed. I’m not upset with Kobe. In fact, I admire his leadership throughout this postseason series. His patience with his teammates and Jackson’s coaching style has earned respect for many people. And I definitely like the way he leads the Lakers. I like Jackson’s strategy of countering Suns’ offense. I knew if the Lakers can dominate over them, they would stand a high chance of beating the Clippers. Not that I think Clippers are not worth of any respect, but I have great confidence for Jackson and Bryant. They proved me wrong this season. I wish them well in the 2006/2007 season.6 May 2006
Dead body
Came home late in the afternoon. Found a dead body on the floor below the fan. There goes my betta. I don’t know how on earth she could hop so far away from the plastic container, where I poked a hole at the top for airflow. Three left in the container then. No casualties were found in the mighty tank.
The NBA
Watched Spurs vs Kings Game 6 in the morning at parent’s house. The Kings lost, not to the Spurs, but to themselves. They commit way too much of the turnovers. Meanwhile, the Lakers failed to close out the series and lost at home to the Suns in Game 6, leading to Game 7 in Phoenix on Sunday.

BLK 328 Clementi
I have enough for the dead bodies. The mortality rate is like one per day. I heard from DJ that there are some good fish shops in Clementi BLK 328 – The Florist & Aquarium smtg. Went there with YL after work. YL is funny, told me that there’s a nice claypot rice place in Clementi, but don’t exactly know where. Right after I parked my bike, as I head towards BLK 328, I can smell nice claypot rice fragrance. The coffee shop is just right beside the fish shop I wanted to go. So, wait for what? Go jiak lor! Hahaha! Yummy yummy!
The Biological Filter
There are four fish shops at BLK 328, being one of them specializes in marine fishes and tank. There are many nice betta, selling at 20 – 30 bucks per piece. I was so tempted to buy … knowing that I’m still not confident in rearing fishes, I shall put on hold. I know YL likes the white one … 30 bucks leh … Anyway, learnt from DJ that because of my tank setup, it’s really not wise to have the external bio filter setup – expensive, unsightful, troublesome. I talked to the lady boss at the shop, and she recommended me the most basic, simple, cheap method of having a internal bio filter. I got two containers for $1.80 each, and stuff each with stones (usually marbles) at the bottom to pull down the weight, covered them with a layer of ceramic rings, followed by sponge. The filter runs through an air pump, that cost about $8.
My mighty tank
I had the two bio filters setup in less than an hour. The bubbles were noisy. I only happen to realize two days later that the amount of airflow is adjustable by turning the knob at the side. Let’s see if it works …Oh I forgot to mention that I also bought 5 bettas. The male red betta cost a dollar, and the four female betta cost 60 cents each.
